In your Boot ROM, there is a way to disable devices. I suspect that your system thinks your display has been turned off. When you reboot, there is usually a key like F10 or F2 (depends somewhat on the manufacturer) that gets you into your Boot ROM configuration screen. Check there to see if the video card has been disabled.
