I NEED HELP WITH MY HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!??!?!?!?

when i dyed my hair 2 days ago the hair dresser said i needed to get it cut short for the semi permanent to go on. she says when it fades the top will be blonde but the bottom would stay red so she i had to get it cut. i thought i would like it short BUT I HATE IT!! is there anything i can do to make it longer (im not getting extensions). i want it to be long for september when school starts! thanks soo much for answering!!!!!!!!!!!!
