A question about printing and image resolution?

I have a 91x91 cm (about 36x36 inches) image. i want to decrease it's size to 36x36 cm (about 14x14 inches) and print it. the problem is that when i changed it's resolution to 300 dpi in photoshop then pressed the Actual Pixels button the image looked pixilated. If i keep the resolution at 72 there would be no problem. i really need this image, is there a problem with just printing it at 72 dpi? I'm printing it with 4 other images, but the other images will be printed at the resolution of 300 dpi, will i see the difference since i have not increased it's size?
