Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening?

My friend got hers done about last week but the hair stylist didn't do it right & it's still wavy. The stylist is suggesting to come in so she can fix it but is it safe to do it again that soon? Will it damage the hair to the point that even the new hair growing will be damaged? If anyone has anyone experience with this, please share. Thanks.
